Landscape Architect and Director of Apex Studios
Amar Zein is a landscape architect and the director of Apex Studios, a leading firm known for its innovative and sustainable landscape designs. Anastasia Rolij
SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Anastasia brings extensive experience across all facets of design and architecture, ensuring a comprehensive approach to every project. Her expertise encompasses a diverse array of projects, including childcare centres, places of worship, educational precincts, vibrant residential communities, and well-planned subdivisions. Anastasia’s approach is characterized by a deep understanding of space, sustainability, and the unique needs of each client. She is committed to crafting environments that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, enhancing both natural and built settings.
Elnaz
Ellie graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Masters degree of Landscape Architecture and Bachelor in Architecture. With over four years of combined experience across design and architecture, she has worked collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams on projects spanning from early concept design to detailed documentation. Ellie is deeply motivated by the relationship between people, place, and nature. She is particularly passionate about ecological restoration and enhancing biodiversity within urban environments. Her design approach focuses on creating sustainable, resilient landscapes that harmoniously integrate natural systems with the built environment. Her interests include the application of green infrastructure to address contemporary urban challenges such as climate adaptation, coastal resilience, and habitat connectivity. She is committed to shaping landscapes that not only perform environmentally but also enrich communities and elevate everyday experiences.
Suamya
Saumya is a Landscape Architect with a background in architecture, working across public domain, childcare, schools, residential, and community projects. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of New South Wales with professional experience across Australia, India, and the UAE.
She is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, site-responsive landscape solutions and oversees projects from concept design through to development approvals and detailed documentation. Her designs are characterised by a strong understanding of how landscapes can positively shape everyday experiences, with attention to detail, innovation, and long-lasting value.
Andre
Andre has a genuine interest in landscape architecture and enjoys seeing how well-designed outdoor spaces influence the way people use and experience them. He is particularly drawn to the balance between built elements, planting, and open space, and how simple, thoughtful design decisions can improve both the feel and function of a place.
He takes a curious and hands-on approach to design, paying close attention to site conditions, how spaces are used, and the role planting and materials play in shaping an environment. Andre enjoys exploring how these elements come together to create landscapes that feel welcoming, cohesive, and easy to use.
Catherine Shuwen li
Catherine has experience in the design of urban spaces, public landscapes, residential communities and infrastructure. Catherine has been involved in the master planning and design of some of the most complex projects.
Catherine is experienced in consultancy with a portfolio of diverse projects. She has is experiences in designing functional and aesthetically pleasing environments for a variety of settings, including childcare centres, places of worship, and educational precincts. Her work also extends to creating vibrant residential communities and well-planned subdivisions. Catherine’s approach is characterised by a keen understanding of space, sustainability, and the unique needs of each client, ensuring that every project she undertakes is thoughtfully crafted to enhance both the natural and built environments.
